Tuesday Tip: How To Remove Watermelon Stains From Carpets And Upholstery When watermelon bits hit the carpet or upholstery, don't panic. Begin by picking up any solid pieces. Use a white cotton cloth or white paper towel to blot up as much of the liquid stain as possible. Use a gentle touch and don't rub. Rubbing will push the stain deeper into the fibers. Next, use Oxy clean and warm water; about one tablespoon of Oxy clean to one quart of water. Be sure the bleach is completely dissolved.
